Aquaculture in Klaipeda

A video was created within the framework of AquaVIP, which helps to learn about what has already been done in Klaipeda in the development of infrastructure and competencies important to the innovative aquaculture sector, and will introduce specialists who are ready to consult new and emerging businesses.

Aquaculture is considered to be one of the most promising sectors of the economy. In order to reveal the potential of the  industry in Western Lithuania, Klaipeda Science and Technology Park together with Klaipeda University are actively involved. Actions undertaken  together with the universities of Rostock and Gdańsk open even more new opportunities for Klaipeda, which has chosen the direction of blue growth.

The establishment of the Aquaculture Competence Center of the South Baltic Region is planned to be one of the most important goals set by the partners. The infrastructure of the center will cover the existing bases in Lithuania, Poland and Germany, provide the necessary access to the available resources, encourage more experienced professionals to share their knowledge more actively with young people – through trainings, seminars and summer schools.
